...."Grieve Not,

Nor speak of me with tears

But laugh and talk of me

As if I were beside you

I loved you so....

"Twas Heaven here with you.

MACREE
A sweet little boy with a pounding heart. Entered our lives and hearts and was gone in a flash. He taught us that no amount of love can heal a broken heart.

Ollie

ollie

My Newfie, Ollie, Springhaven's White Knight, CD, RE, DD, WD, CGC, TDI, was born 5/20/00 and died 1/23/07. He earned all of his titles except the CGC and TDI between September 2005 and November 2006, just before his soft tissue sarcoma was diagnosed and continuing to show between surgery and radiation therapy treatments. He finished his RE just before return of his cancer was diagnosed.
The above photo was taken by professional photographer Suzanne Tennant for Pioneer Press and appeared on the front page of the Oak Leaves newspaper on September 17, 2005. The caption indicated that Ollie the Newfoundland had won Oak Park's "Whose Your Doggy?" contest for his portrayal of Olympic track & field star, Carl Lewis. Ollie earned approximately $700 in gift certificates for winning this contest in 2003, 2004, and 2005, and also for being the "most patriotic dog" in the 2004 Fourth of July parade in Oak Park. He was selected for the last award because he waved his own flag while pulling his cart decorated with flags.
Ollie had a lot of fun during his short life. It was well worth the effort to attempt to save his life because he enjoyed his last year so much. He had been expected to survive another 2 - 5 years after his radiation therapy, but he only survived a bit less than a year. Priscilla Hensel
